There are a wide variety of temporary disks on the various SCD machines.
Temporary disks are handy when you have a short-term need for
more disk space than is available in your home directory.
This table summarizes which temporary disks are available on each machine,
whether there are quotas, and whether there are scrubbers. Following the table are some important usage hints.

- 1 No scrubber, but $TMPDIR is completely removed when the
batch job ends.
- 2 No scrubber, but $TMPDIR is completely removed when you
log off.
- 3 Please use /scratch on sioux. It is much larger and is
preferred over both /tmp and /usr/tmp.
