The image was rendered by Volsh, a portable volume renderer based on Philippe Lacroute 's Shear-Warp Factorization algorithms. SCD's John Clyne developed Volsh to address a missing component of the Visualization Group's volume rendering capability: batch creation of high-fidelity, volumetric renderings from large, time-evolving datasets.
