SCD/CGD stole the keeshka at the annual all-NCAR "Spring Fling" and lip-synch contest in May 1998, winning a first-place "Oscar" for their appearance as polka-ing peasants.

In SCD/CGD's animated song and dance, the "keeshka" was a roll of baloney that disappeared and was found again.

Benchmark tests run by the judges showed evidence of robust choreography, scalable footwork, and sustained peak performance.
