Some users may have recently experienced "unresolved externals" when trying to use routines in Spherepack.

In the recently installed Version 2 of Spherepack, some initialization routines have new names to make naming conventions more consistent. You can use both the new names and the older names.

If you wish to use the new names, here are the routines to call:

  • If you call shigc/shigs to initialize shagc/shags, replace it with shagci/shagsi.

  • If you call shigc/shigs to initialize shsgc/shsgs, replace it with shsgci/shsgsi.

  • If you call vhigc/vhigs to initialize vhagc/vhags, replace it with vhagci/vhagsi.

  • If you call vhigc/vhigs to initialize vhsgc/vhsgs, replace it with by vhsgci/vhsgsi
