The old Internet Remote Job Entry (IRJE) system, which was running old
hardware and software and could no longer be reliably supported,
was replaced with a newer, faster system in February 1998.
The transition was transparent for the most part, although some
users may note changes. For the latest IRJE information, see:

In addition, users' .rhosts files on the Crays have been modified and/or created to
contain:
- irje.ucar.edu
- newirje.ucar.edu
- migs.ucar.edu
These changes to the rhosts files were needed to support the new IRJE / MIGS / MASnet system.
