A native of Manitoba and former senior director of the Canadian Meteorological Centre, Al Kellie (kellie@ucar.edu) took the reins as director of the NCAR Scientific Computing Division on 30 November 1998. Al brings to the post energy, a taste for innovation, and an intent to run the division in a "very professional manner."
