SCD web sites win awards of distinction, excellence

SCD entered four of its online information resources in the 1995 Online Publication Competition sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication. All four entries won awards.

The SCD Information Resources Catalog won an Award of Distinction, the highest award possible. Judges cited outstanding navigational aids, simplicity of use, an excellent search engine, and clear organization. The catalog lists SCD documentation available and provides direct hypertext links for instant online access.

The web site for NCAR Graphics Version 4.0 interactive documentation won an Award of Excellence. The documentation was judged using a demonstration module that highlights its significant technical communication features. The SCD NCAR Graphics Group invites users to browse the demo module to explore the interactive interface for NCAR Graphics Version 4.0.

The SCD Consulting Office's Frequently Asked Questions web site, part of SCD ConsultWeb, won an Award of Achievement. Also winning an award of Achievement was the SCD interactive information kiosk in the visitor area outside the NCAR computer room--stop by and take a look next time you're in the basement of the NCAR Mesa Lab!
