SCD Annual Scientific Report released

The Climate Simulation Laboratory was among the highlights of SCD's accomplishments in 1996. This image shows the output of several components from the NCAR Coupled System Model, including visualizations of atmosphere and ocean model data.

SCD's vision is to enable the best computational, atmospheric, and related research in the world by being a recognized leader in providing, applying, and advancing high performance computing technologies and expertise. Extraordinary computational capability -- along with storage and analysis of huge datasets that are not widely available -- are required for much of this research.

You can read about our progress during Fiscal Year 1996 in SCD's chapter of the 1996 NCAR Annual Scientific Report. SCD's report is structured according to its organizational units, the sections that make up the division. It describes the sections' most significant accomplishments and includes lists of SCD's publications, community service activities, educational activities, staff, visitors, and collaborators.
