AccessGrid

Meeting between multiple remote locationsThe AccessGrid is a collection of meeting spaces with audio-visual and networking technologies that allow data visualizations and live images to be shared among multiple remote locations. It is used for large-scale distributed meetings, collaborative work sessions, seminars, lectures, tutorials, and training.

CISL designed and built two of these virtual meeting spaces at NCAR to exchange rich scientific data for collaboration and discovery at a distance. The NCAR Visualization Lab is equipped for AccessGrid meetings.

Over 3,400 institutions across 47 countries participate in the AccessGrid, creating a research network for collaborative work in distributed environments.
