ESMF Events at the 2008 Fall AGU Meeting

aguThe Earth System Modeling Framework (ESMF), a community infrastructure project based in CISL, will be hosting several events at the Fall AGU Meeting in San Francisco, CA. On the morning of December 16, an AGU poster session entitled "The Science of Coupling with the ESMF" will be held at the Moscone Center South. This session features twelve model coupling and construction projects from centers including the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Prediction, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, the Naval Research Laboratory, and the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory. These efforts utilize ESMF's high performance, scalable coupling software and flexible data structures, and demonstrate some of the framework's newer features, such as support for standardized model metadata. At 3:00pm that afternoon, ESMF will host a birds of a feather discussion session at the nearby Westin Market Street Hotel, followed by a reception from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The discussion session and reception are great opportunities to interact with developers and learn more about the ESMF software and applications. Please come by and join us for posters, discussion, and refreshments!
