Babyblue batch jobs with memory oversubscription to be stopped automatically

Email will be sent to job's owner

On Monday, 8 March 2004, SCD software engineers will automate a change to babyblue memory oversubscription as follows:

Batch jobs which oversubscribe maximum node memory (2 gigabytes) will be killed automatically, and email will be sent to the job's owner advising them what to do before resubmitting the job. Owners of jobs which resubmit and oversubscribe repeatedly will have their accounts temporarily locked until the problem is corrected.

This is the same strategy SCD has followed for some months, except the steps of killing and informing will now be done automatically instead of manually.
