IDL available for user testing on dataproc and dave

Interactive Data Language (IDL) 6.0 is now available for user testing on dataproc and dave. To test IDL 6.0, add the following to your .profile or .cshrc files:

csh users:

source /usr/local/idl/idl_6.0/bin/idl_setup

ksh users:

. /usr/local/idl/idl_6.0/bin/idl_setup.ksh

Log out, log back in and then type idl (or idlde).

IDL 6.0 returns MPG and GIF file format support to your applications. There are numerous other enhancements in this release that can be reviewed at
