Steve Thomas and Amik St. Cyr of SCD's Computational Science Section run an animated scientific visualization showing temperature variations and the transport of moisture from the tropics to the mid-latitudes. The data for the visualization was produced by the High-Order Multiscale Modeling Environment (HOMME), a prototype spectral element–based model being developed by Steve, Amik, and a team of collaborators from CSS, IBM, and the University of Colorado.
