SCD software engineers will upgrade bluesky beginning Friday, 11 April at 16:00 Mountain Daylight Time. The engineers anticipate returning the system to users at 12:00 (noon) MDT April 13 unless they encounter problems.

The software to be upgraded includes AIX, PSSP, VSD, LoadLeveler, GPFS, POE, and the Fortran compiling system.

These upgrades are already installed on babyblue and blackforest. SCD urges you to compile and run test versions of your codes on babyblue or blackforest, especially codes that you intend to run on bluesky after the upgrade. The upgrade includes various corrective patches; in addition, the xlf Fortran compiler will be changed from version 8.1.0.2 to 8.1.0.3.

If you have questions or concerns about this, please email SCD consultants at consult1@ucar.edu.
