NCL workshops to be offered in July, September

Programming language is used for analysis and visualization of data

Two workshops on the NCAR Command Language (NCL) will be offered at NCAR in the coming months:

  • 14–17 July 2003
  • 29 September–2 October 2003

NCL is a programming language designed specifically for the analysis and visualization of data

The workshops, which are free, will cover the following topics:

  • Introduction to the netCDF data model
  • NCL language basics
  • NCL file I/O
  • NCL data processing
  • Graphics using gsn and gsn_csm plot interfaces
  • File handling using the netCDF operators (NCO) or the CCSM Component Model Processing Suite (CMPS)

The workshops consist of morning lectures and afternoon exercises in which the students are encouraged to bring their own data.
