Only 10 batch nodes available for babyblue users

In preparation for extensive upgrade on 10 December

Until further notice, only 10 batch nodes will be available to babyblue users. This limitation will continue until 9 December 2002, as SCD prepares to upgrade babyblue to AIX 5.1 and PSSP 3.4. SCD software engineers may need to take even more nodes during this time.

On 10 December, babyblue will be taken for this extensive upgrade, which will take several days. It is not possible at this time to precisely estimate how many days the upgrade will require.

After babyblue is released to users, SCD will ask them to run their pertinent jobs on babyblue, to ascertain how the upgrade affects babyblue's user environment. SCD will ask users for feedback, critical for directing the same upgrade on blackforest.

Please direct questions about this to the SCD Consulting Office. Email is preferred at this time: consult1@ucar.edu. Normal hours for response are 0800-1700 Mountain Time, Monday through Friday.
