XL Complier 8.1 is default on babyblue

Babyblue available to all IBM blackforest users at no charge

The XL Compiler Suite 8.1 is now the default complier on the IBM SP RS/6000, babyblue.

Originally purchased as a test machine for SCD, babyblue is is available to all IBM blackforest users at no charge. Babyblue is a cluster of 16 RS/6000 nodes with four 375-MHz POWER3 CPUs and 2 GB of memory per node. Twelve are compute nodes and four are system services nodes. One of these four nodes is dedicated to logins and interactive work.
