The General Accounting Unit (GAU) charging rate for jobs sent to the hold1 or hold2 queues on blackforest was lowered on 1 December 2002. The current rate is:

1/3 * computer factor * cpu hours

There is no change in the computer factor for blackforest, which remains at 0.1.

Previously, jobs sent to the hold queues were charged at the rate:

queue factor * computer factor * cpu hours

where queue factor was based on the queue the job was submitted to.

Jobs affiliated with NCAR divisions or Climate Simulation Lab (CSL) proposal groups are put into the hold1 or hold2 queue on blackforest depending on the division or group exceeding the one-month and/or three-month use limit.

The job accounting report that users can obtain by using the ja command has reflected the new rate since 3 December 2002.
