The NCAR Mass Storage System (MSS) has exceeded 1 petanyte (10**15) of stored data, including duplicate copies. The total number of unique bytes is 589 terabytes (10**12) in 15.4 million files. The current average net growth rate of unique bytes is 15 terabytes per month.
