How to access research literature through the NCAR Library

Full-text electronic journals, citation services available

Computer keyboard

Access full-text electronic journals at the NCAR Library web site

If you're a new or visiting researcher at NCAR/UCAR read on to learn how to obtain scientific literature to support your work.

Start by accessing the NCAR Library web site. Using the button bar, click on Catalog to begin a search of the library collection and find a report or book as well as full information on each of our journal subscriptions. If what you need is not present in the catalog, NCAR's interlibrary loan service can obtain it for you. E-mail your request to ncarill@ucar.edu.

See our list of full-text electronic journals by clicking on the E-Journals button. To verify or discover articles published in journals, click on the Library web site's Info. Resources button. Located on this page are several services you can choose from to locate the citations you need: Web of Science, Meteorological and Geoastrophysical Abstracts, Ingenta, and FirstSearch are excellent choices.

Our Info. Resources page also provides access to newspapers through Newspaper Source, to full text searchable computer science books in Books 24x7, to word definitions in the Oxford English Dictionary Online, and to backfiles of statistics, general science, ecology and other e-journals through JSTOR.

For immediate needs or for additional information contact the library reference desks at 303-497-1180 (Mesa Lab) or 303-497-8505 (Foothills Lab), or send email to Leslie Forehand.
