A reminder: /ptmp is not long-term!

This disk space on SCD supercomputers is subject to scrubbing

SCD reminds users that /ptmp disk space on SCD supercomputers is subject to scrubbing. Therefore, this space should not be viewed as long-term storage.

Users sometimes ask, "How long can I depend on my data hanging around in /ptmp?" There is really no assurance that can be given. Disk file latency depends on several factors, including the scrubber's algorithm. It also depends on the amount of free space on the disk, which in turn depends on what users are doing at the time.

Please direct questions or concerns to the SCD Consulting Office (303-497-1278) from 0800-1700 MDT weekdays, or send email to consult1@ucar.edu.
