NSF Blue Ribbon Panel requests input from high-performance computing community

Survey responses will help chart course of supercomputing future

SCD News is publishing this letter from National Science Foundation (NSF) panel member Kelvin Droegemeir as a community service announcement.

Dear high-performance computing colleagues,

I'm serving on the NSF Blue Ribbon Panel on CyberInfrastructure and also am chairing the subcommittee that is charged with assessing the needs of the community.

Many of you recall the Hayes Report, which led to the recompetition of the National Science Foundation supercomputing centers and the creation of the Partnerships for Advanced Computational Infrastructure (PACI). The current Blue Ribbon Panel likewise is charting the course of the future, and as a fellow scientist, I'm asking that you take a few minutes to complete an online survey located at:

http://www.actknowledgeworks.net/brpci/surveys

I can't overstate the importance of your input to the Blue Ribbon Panel. Such input played a strong role in shaping the recommendations made in the Hayes report, and such will be the case in our report as well.

Thanks very much in advance for participating in this important process!

Sincerely, Kelvin K. Droegemeier
