OpenSSH is an Open Source version of secure shell (the SSH/SecSH protocol suite) that provides encryption for network services such as remote login. This suite of tools automatically and transparently encrypts all communications.

The many features of OpenSSH are detailed on the OpenSSH website, which provides access to a wealth of resources (FAQ, man pages, archives, history, and security details) for these tools now available on blackforest.

Blackforest users who log in remotely are encouraged to use OpenSSH to enhance system security for all users.
