Respect and honor

The American flag is displayed outside the Mesa Laboratory of the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado, on 14 September 2001.

University Corporation for Atmospheric Research president Rick Anthes sent a message to UCAR/NCAR staff members saying, in part, "At the request of many staff, and to show our support for the nation and our respect for the people who have died or been injured in these terrorist attacks and their families, we will begin displaying the American flag at UCAR sites today . . . I wish you all well as we try to cope with this unprecedented situation."
