SCD Visitor Area gets a facelift: In July 2001, renovations began for a new SCD Visitor Area outside the NCAR Computer Room. The area is where UCAR's Education and Tour Program brings visitors to see NCAR supercomputers, and is also the entrance hall to SCD's new VisLab. Work continues daily on the site, where upgrades include new paint, carpet, lighting, and information display boxes. Most of the work on the area will be done by early September.
