UPS comes down

SCD Operations and Information Support Section manager Aaron Andersen keeps a close eye on a one-ton Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) box being lowered by crane into the NCAR basement on 4 June 2001. The UPS was one of three units delivered, part of a plan to upgrade the quality of backup electrical service to support the power requirements of new supercomputers slated for arrival later this year.
