SCD is currently engaged in a Request
For Proposal (RFP) for the next-generation supercomputer at NCAR. The RFP, in
preparation since March 2000, reflects the technical expertise of SCD staff, NCAR
scientists, and UCAR's Contracts Office.
The RFP has already been reviewed by vendors. SCD has incorporated their comments,
as appropriate, into the document. Benchmarks for use in evaluating each vendor's
machine have been prepared and will be released with the RFP, some time in late
October 2000.
