Tim sees NCAR evolving into a "virtual" center with increased emphasis on interdisciplinary research. NCAR will continue to focus on atmospheric science, but with more of an earth-systems emphasis, including social interactions.

NCAR, he said, is in a position to take advantage of the information technology revolution and form new partnerships and collaborations. He also sees the importance of research-enriched education and an environment that encourages professional growth.
