FastPath
A gateway that connects AppleTalk Ethernet networks. It converts the AppleTalk protocol on a LocalTalk medium to EtherTalk on an Ethernet medium, and supports transmission of the TCP/IP protocol on both media. These boxes were originally manufactured by Kinetics, a division of Excelan. When the company was bought by Shiva, the box was renamed a Shiva FastPath. It has one AUI port and one LocalTalk port.

A device that allows flexible control of an FDDI configuration. It's primary purpose is to allow devices to be disconnected from an FDDI ring without disrupting the continuity of the ring.
