Meeting Maker (Pete's notes)
Web to the Meeting Maker
home page for documentation.
IMPORTANT: install Meeting maker after you
install the Palm Desktop software. This allows the MM installation
software to recognize that Palm software exists, and offer to
install a MM to Palm conduit, so you can synchronize your Palm and
MM calendars.
- Log in as siemsen, not administrator
- Web to the
UCAR
Meeting Maker dowload page. Follow the directions.
- It should ask Do you want to install
conduits?. Click Yes.
- In the resulting window, unselect Address book,
because if we ever synchronize our Palm Address Book to
something, it's likely to be Netscape, not Meeting Maker.
Click OK.
- Start Meeting Maker. When it comes up it'll display a
login window. Click Server.... Change the
Protocol from IP to TCP. You should
see UCAR-MM6 in the Select Server
window. Click Select. Log in.
- To set up synchronization, right-click the little
HotSync icon in the task bar. Select
Custom....
- In the resulting window, change Meeting
Maker Datebook do that it says "Desktop overwrites
handheld".
- In the resulting window, fill in the username and
password fields. In the Server field,
type UCAR-MM6. Click Done.
- To synchronize Meeting Maker with a Palm device, you have to
have a cradle connected to a PC, and the PC has to be running
Windows. You can't do it from Unix. With Windows 2000 running,
simply drop the Palm in the cradle and push the Hot Sync button.
