OmniDazzle (Pete's notes)
The coolest things are, in order:
- Cutout - highlight something on the screen with a rectangle, oval or circle
- Bullseye - makes the mouse cursor a target so it's easy to see
- Focal Point - highlights the window that has focus
- Scribble - draw free-form
- Pixie dust - nice eye candy
The trick to actually using these is configuring the activation keys so that
you can remember how to drive.
I want to configure the keys to achieve the following:
- Must work with the laptop keyboard, not a full keyboard.
- All effects must share the same "clear screen" key (default is Control-`)
To meet these requirements, I have to use the function keys - there aren't any other useable keys on the laptop keyboard.
Function keys are assigned thusly:
- F1 is QuickSilver
- F2 is used by TextMate
- F3 is Expose "show all windows"
- F4 is unused.
- F5 is used by TextMate.
- F6 is unused.
- F7 is unused.
- F8 is Expose "show desktops"
- F9 is unused.
- F10 is unused
- F11 is used for moving mail to OmniFocus.
- F12 is dashboard.
So that's what I have to work with.
I should probably move the F8 function to F4 and then use, like,
F6-F9 for OmniDazzle.
