Grid-BGC accomplishments

Grid-BGC output Grid-BGC is a terrestrial biogeochemical cycle simulator collaboratively developed by NCAR and the University of Colorado with funding from NASA. The primary objective of the project is to use Globus Grid technology to develop an end-to-end solution that seamlessly couples models, data, and resources to allow geoscientists to simulate terrestrial biogeochemistry over large domains at high spatial resolution.

In the past year, our major accomplishments have been to release the first version of the science portal to our external beta testers at the University of Wisconsin, Utah State University, and WSL Switzerland, to complete version 2.0 of the service-oriented architecture and implementation using the Globus Toolkit version 4.0, to migrate the core science codes to netCDF, and to re-architect the security model and implementation to comply with current SCD and NCAR policy.

More details are provided on the Grid-BGC website.
