Options

Because the DCS commands are a mixture of POSIX and non-POSIX, the command line options accepted are a mix between POSIX style (single character) and MSS-specific (multiple character) options. The MSS-specific options can sometimes be abbreviated to the shortest unique prefix. In the man pages for each command, the MSS-specific options will shown in the following form:

-pre[fix]

Where -pre is the minimum required prefix and the suffix fix may be optionally given.

Note

The -project option may be uniquely abbreviated to -p in commands that do not also take the period option. However, to avoid confusion, you may wish to consistently use -pr for specifying the project and -pe for specifying the retention period.
