Purpose
| This was the one conference I went to last year and found it worthwoile. Provides lectures/demos of various topics in both system administration and development on Mac, often given by Apple engineers and managers. Information is provided on upcoming changes to software/hardware and major releases. Also an opportunity to look at whatother organizations may be using to manage their systems. Apple engineers are available for questions about problems encountered, etc and getting a general idea of what areas Apple is focusing on for the future. |
Overview
| The conference provided worthwhile information on various areas of system administration as well as what is coming with the next 10.5 release. From the keynote they said this conference is up to 5000 attendees and resulted in long lines and occasionally full sessions. Since the sessions are about 1hr 15 min each, they don't always go into as much detail as you would like, but overall the conference and the information provided was useful. |
Reference Materials / Recommendations
Apple makes some presentations available from the attendee site for the conference. They also will post more information from sessions at some point in the future. Since the sessions are mainly taught by Apple engineers, it helps to see what they have to say about the features they're putting into the software and questions from the audience.
