CISL Outreach Services is charged with informing users, the scientific community, stakeholders, and the public about advances in UCAR/NCAR’s computational environment.

CISL Outreach Services staff:

• Edit and produce planning documents such as the SCD Strategic Plan, the SCD Annual Report, and the UCAR Field Program Support Committee Report
• Produce feature stories on CISL achievements for UCAR/NCAR publications, national news services, and the computational science community
• Produce and maintain online documentation, quick-reference guides, and detailed reference manuals to improve the utilization of UCAR/NCAR computing, mass storage, and data analysis resources
• Create in-house displays, traveling exhibits, brochures, fact sheets, handouts, and other hardcopy information materials highlighting CISL’s crucial support of Earth systems science
• Develop and maintain a wide range of websites to support CISL, NCAR, and UCAR activities
• Provide digital photo coverage and image archives that document key CISL activities and milestones
• Organize and support meetings, forums, conferences, and advisory panels on topics ranging from user productivity, high-end computing, and network technology to national cybersecurity
• Coordinate tours of the NCAR Computer Room and SCD Visualization Lab for scientific visitors, university collaborators, dignitaries, student groups, the public, and external news media
• Offer ongoing assistance to CISL staff in the production of information materials
