CISL Outreach Services Group

	CISL Outreach Services Group: Marijke Unger, Janice Kauvar, Candice Murray, Brian Bevirt, Susan Cross, Jeff Alipit, Kristin Mooney

CISL Outreach Services Group is charged with informing users, the scientific community, stakeholders, and the public about advances in UCAR/NCAR’s computational environment.

CISL Outreach Services Group staff:

• Edit and produce planning documents such as the CISL Strategic Plan and the CISL Annual Report
• Produce feature stories on CISL achievements for UCAR/NCAR publications, national news services, and the computational science community
• Produce and maintain online documentation, quick-reference guides, and detailed reference manuals to improve the utilization of UCAR/NCAR computing, mass storage, and data analysis resources
• Create in-house displays, traveling exhibits, brochures, fact sheets, handouts, and other hardcopy information materials highlighting CISL’s crucial support of Earth systems science
• Develop and maintain a wide range of websites to support CISL, NCAR, and UCAR activities
• Provide digital photo coverage and image archives that document key CISL activities and milestones
• Organize and support meetings, forums, conferences, and advisory panels on topics ranging from user productivity, high-end computing, and network technology to national cybersecurity
• Coordinate tours of the NCAR Computer Room and Visualization Lab for scientific visitors, university collaborators, dignitaries, student groups, the public, and external news media
• Offer ongoing assistance to CISL staff in the production of information materials
