CAS2K9
September 13-16, 2009
Computing in Atmospheric Sciences 2009 (CAS2K9) is the ninth biennial meeting in a series hosted by the National Center for Atmospheric Research under sponsorship from the U.S. National Science Foundation. CAS2K9 will bring together international colleagues to discuss information technology advances and the transformative infrastructure that allows scientists to investigate atmospheric problems as part of the Earth system model. Presentation and discussion topics include:
* Performance of weather forecasting and Earth system model applications on high-end supercomputers, and their readiness to exploit petascale systems
* Earth system science programs in computation, intensive data gathering, data assimilation, and data distribution via grid technology
* Archival storage & data management strategies
* High Performance Computing facility challenges
* Progress reports and plans from national weather, climate, and research laboratories worldwide
The workshop will also include presentations from key industry vendors.
