Computing in Atmospheric Sciences 2007 (CAS2K7) is the eighth biennial meeting in a series hosted by the National Center for Atmospheric Research under sponsorship from the U.S. National Science Foundation. CAS2K7 will bring together international colleagues to discuss information technology advances and the transformative infrastructure that allows scientists to investigate atmospheric problems as part of the Earth system model. Presentation and discussion topics include:

• Performance of weather forecasting and Earth system modeling applications on high performance computing systems, and their readiness to exploit petascale architectures
• International crosscutting Earth system science programs in computation, intensive data gathering, and data distribution via grid technology
• Data management strategies and experiences
• Next-generation Earth system knowledge environments
• Progress reports and plans from national weather, climate, and research laboratories worldwide

The workshop will also include presentations from key industry vendors.

CAS2K7 Workshop site will be L'Imperial Palace Hotel in Annecy, France.
