Title: “Introduction to IBM SP-cluster systems”

Abstract:

This one-day seminar is geared toward new users of the IBM SP-cluster systems at NCAR (bluesky, blackforest, babyblue, and dave). It is designed to provide the information necessary to immediately start using these systems productively. This seminar is appropriate for both developers and end-users who may be involved in making code modifications. The topics to be covered include the system architecture, file systems, building applications, porting codes, programming paradigms, code optimization, and using the batch queuing system. The IBM Fortran manuals, POWER3 and POWER4 Redbooks, and a copy of the class notes will be provided to all who pre-register.
