Strong national
and international atmospheric research communities have emerged to study and
assess critical issues in global climate change. Collaborative Problem Solving
Environments (CPSEs) are component-based tools, which can enable such
distributed communities of researchers to more effectively access and share
their research and resources.
In
this talk we present a brief overview of the current “state of the art” in
Collaborative Problem Solving Environments and how these technologies have been
used at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. A discussion of how this
technology could be applied to facilitate and enhance research in the global
climate community will follow.
