So ... What does the CUG office really do, then?
Well... let me tell you, then. We ...
- Manage mailing lists and membership files
- Generate and mail invoices
- Maintain membership payment records
- Support the treasurer with financial reporting and banking services
- Provide database, technical, and administrative support for conferences
- Design, produce, and distribute CUG publications including What is CUG?,
the site/contact list, the conference program, and the CUG
Proceedings
We have just published a new version of What is CUG? It is a color
brochure and contains current information on CUG. If you still have the
older version and want the new one, copies are available from the CUG
office (send e-mail to bwinget@pobox.com).

At the Spring 1997 CUG conference in Silicon Valley, the CUG Board of
Directors decided to publish the conference Proceedings on CD-ROM.
That CD-ROM will include:
-
The Proceedings from five conferences (Spring 1995 through Spring
1997). The Spring 1997 Proceedings will be produced in HTML and
Acrobat PDF format. The Spring 1995 through Fall 1996 Proceedings
will be produced in PDF format. We will include a free copy of Acrobat
Reader for Mac, Windows, SunOS, Solaris, HP-UX, IRIX, and IBM AIX.
- The CUGDUS web-based system
- Cray/SGI information
- The CUG site/contact list
- The Silicon Valley CUG attendee list
- And, we hope, contributions from the four regional CUG conferences (Latin,
German, Japanese, and Australian)
The CD-ROM will be far more valuable than any single printed version could
ever be. However, if you want a printed version of the Spring 1997
Proceedings instead of the CD-ROM, please contact
me at the address below.
