Netherlands to host CUG 2000

CUG 2000 will be held May 22-26, 2000, in Noordwijk aan Zee, the Netherlands, hosted by Delft University of Technology. The meeting will take place in the Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin, located between Amsterdam and the Hague. Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport is 20 minutes away by taxi or shuttle service, and downtown Amsterdam is only about 40 minutes away. The Huis ter Duin is a five-star hotel on the beach overlooking the North Sea. It has 238 rooms, 23 suites, and 19 conference rooms of various sizes. There are two fine places to eat inside the hotel: the Grand Cafe La Terrace, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee, an informal lunch, or dinner, and the Restaurant Latour, which serves elegant French cuisine. I spent a weekend at the hotel in May, and while the weather did not permit swimming in the sea, the location was spectacular. You can rent sailboats near the hotel and there are lots of places to eat just across the street. The shopping area for the town of Noordwijk is only a couple of blocks away, and it didn't take me long to find my Diet Cokes. I am sure you will enjoy the location of the meeting!
