The Computer Science Section (CSS) conducts research in computational science, applied mathematics, numerical analysis, geosciences, and software engineering. In addition, we lead the Scientific Computing Division technology tracking and benchmarking efforts. Finally, we develop open source software packages and numerical libraries to make use of this research in atmosphere, ocean, and geoscience models.
