Getting Started with VPN

Overview

As of 08-Jun-2005, dialup users (or Remote Access Services (RAS) users) will need a Virtual Private Network (VPN ) client to access internal UCAR resources.  External resources, including external UCAR links can still be accessed without VPN.

The steps below will tell you what you need to do to acquire the VPN client.  If you have questions, please contact your division’s system administration staff.

Getting Started

  1. Have your division's System Administrator submit a Work Request  for VPN software on your behalf. Choose SCD Support and Consulting. Include your system type and platform in the request.

  1. You will receive e-mail with a link to the VPN software. Follow the instructions included to complete the download.
